Maybe it’s regional. Locally there seem to be 3 groups. Garage queens for 25k, BHPH shadiness for 9k and beaten/clone/wrecked for 5k and under.

Region is the most likely explanation. Ie, a good 8 series here is about 15-20k, yet you can find them CA based for 8-10k all day. Meanwhile most classics here are about 5k cheaper than a California version, even though they’re all likely rust free if they’ve been here their entire lives.

I once dated a girl with an abusive ex. He came from Youngtown. This explains a lot. I kicked his ass when he threw a book at me cause I was holding hands with “his girl”. He also drove a 90s roadmaster.
